About
Welcome to Navajo Pearls Ranch
"The Art of jewelry making comes from my family story of 4 generations of Traders, the term Traders was a used for folks like my family who had Trading Post on and around Native American Reservations and who traded goods and necessities with the Native Americans & learned to collaborate in the jewelry design aspect. My grandparents and uncles slowly built one of the largest Native American jewelry collaborations in the world. It all started when my great grandmother began trading after her husband left her for another woman and she took off to forge a solo life. Loving the Native American people and the art she saw in New Mexico she filled up her Cadillac with as much art as would fit. Armed with a Bible and a German Luger pistol by her side, she traveled and sold to shops along Route 66 and the Southwest. When she opened her first Trading Post, she slept in the back and continued to travel to remote reservations. My families trading post which came later was opened on Route 66 and several more trading post's followed as well. My love of this art is a tribute to my great grandmother's life, moxy, courage, and savvy business ways, that she in turn passed down through four generations of my wild, wonderful family who are still traders today."
